Ok, as the third day with my new iPod came, I started wondering if there was something I could do to the iTrip to amplify its signal, thanks to google, I found
some crazy things that people have done to increase the range of the frequency.
After considering it for a while, I decided to make my own attempt to hack the iTrip; and all I used was a small knife, my car keys and a stapler. Using the knife, I removed the four rubber stoppers from both sides of the iTrip, then, also using the knife, I started to scratch the sides, trying to make a small cut...
As I made the cut, I put the knife against the iTrip and started to tap the knife with the back of the stapler (I couldn't find a hammer...) at one point, both sides broke apart, then I used the keys to finish the job.
The idea was to set the antenna free, out of the iTrip, so that broadcast signal is stronger... Doing so, removes any warranty on the accessory and - what's worse - it violates FCC Regulations, so basically: its illegal.
Who cares? The results: my iPod now rules and there's no noise interference at all, besides, sound quality increased a LOT. The thing that no one told me, is that the exposed antenna should not be touched while broadcasting, or it will cause a weird loud sound in your radio...
